Roberta Mumm was born on Long Island and began studying piano at the age of 4. She began singing semi professionally at the age of 10.
She received her degree in piano and voice from The Catholic University of America in Washington DC. She has been teaching for over 30 years. Since moving to the Sacramento area, she has taught music, children's choir and drama at St Mel's School and taught private piano and voice before opening the Roseville Performing Arts Studio in 1995 at the Sunrise Ave location in Roseville. Three years ago she moved to the present location at 1830 Vernon St in Roseville where she teaches voice, piano and musical theatre.

Roberta has performed as a soloist with the Sacramento Symphony Chorus in A Midsummer Night's Dream and their Pop Concert in the Park. She has also had roles with Music Circus (Pirates of Penzance), Light Opera of Sacramento (lead ingenue roles in "Ruddigore", "Pirates of Penzance"," Iolanthe", "HMS Pinafore" and "Yeoman of the Guard"), Davis Comic Opera (Rosalinda in "Die Fledermaus" for which she received an Sacramento Elly nomination),  Hope in "Something's Afoot", and Blanche in "A Streetcar Named Mikado", with Davis Musical Theater as Fiona in "Brigadoon" and played the roles of Christine in both Andrew Lloyd Webber's and Maury Yeston's "Phantom of the Opera" segments in Best of Broadway. She sang the role of Cunegonde in the concert version of "Candide" at the Temple B'Nai Israel benefit concert and has performed 2 recitals at the Crocker Art Museum as well as a concert for the families of 911 victims at Memorial Auditorium.

Five of the  musical theatre productions that Roberta has directed have received 8 Elly nominations and 1 Elly award for acting.

Roberta's greatest joy is watching her students grow in confidence and technique.
